Burn Excision and Debridement

This procedure removes dead or damaged tissue (debridement) from a burn wound to aid healing and prevent infection. The doctor uses sterile instruments to remove the tissue, possibly in a surgical setting for severe burns. After debridement, the wound is cleaned, dressed.
