Shingles (Herpes Zoster)

Shingles is a viral infection that causes a painful rash, often in a stripe-like pattern. It is caused by the reactivation of the varicella-zoster virus, which also causes chickenpox

Symptoms

  • Enlarged lymph nodes
  • Cluster of tiny blisters that open spontaneously
  • Stabbing or shooting pain (this can happen without a rash)
  • A tingling or burning feeling in or under your skin
  • Fever
  • Chills
  • Headache
  • Feeling tired
  • Sensitivity to light
  • Upset stomach
