Shingles (Herpes Zoster)
Shingles is a viral infection that causes a painful rash, often in a stripe-like pattern. It is caused by the reactivation of the varicella-zoster virus, which also causes chickenpox
Symptoms
- Enlarged lymph nodes
- Cluster of tiny blisters that open spontaneously
- Stabbing or shooting pain (this can happen without a rash)
- A tingling or burning feeling in or under your skin
- Fever
- Chills
- Headache
- Feeling tired
- Sensitivity to light
- Upset stomach
