Gout

Type of arthritis caused by a buildup of uric acid crystals in the joints, leading to sudden, severe pain, swelling, and redness, often in the big toe

Symptoms

• Intense pain.
• Discoloration or redness.
• Stiffness.
• Swelling.
• Tenderness, even to a light touch (like a bedsheet covering your affected joint).
• Warmth, or a feeling like the joint is “on fire.”
